
Our Name:
The concept of Rex & Roxy’s was based on the simple fact that like human beings, all dogs have a special uniqueness to their personalities. No matter how much dogs may look alike due to their breed, there really are no two dogs that are alike in personality.
The decision to not include a dog “trait” in our name or logo was somewhat risky i.e. “woof, wag, sniff, scratch, bark, etc.” But we, too, wanted to be unique in our approach.
If you look a little deeper into the name: Rex & Roxy’s – You will notice that the initials are R&R or RNR which means “Rest and Relaxation” which is precisely why it works. Our clients are going away for a little RNR while their little doggies get to have some fun with their friends.
Our Brand:
The logo itself took about 3 months to develop. Christian D. Leaf, an extremely talented and patient artist from Richmond, VA deserves all the credit for the final drawings of all our characters.
While the logo was a representation of each owner’s dog (black lab and an American terrier), it was an evolutionary process that eventually landed into each dog’s unique personality.
